    Manages and prepares all catering events at the facility, corporate, and other UMH facilities as needed. Manages all sanitation standards in the kitchen. Manages food service employees while complying with nutritional standards, government regulations and internal procedures.


    • Coordinates all catering events.
    • Prepares, plans, sets up and breaks down all catering events.
    • Coordinates and manages event staff if needed for the scope of service.
    • Coordinates purchase of food items with Food Service Managers for catering functions.
    • Manages catering procedure and function sheets.
    • Monitors cleanliness/sanitation of cooking equipment, refrigeration, storerooms and dish room.
    • Completes weekly sanitation checklist of all food service areas with action plan for deficient areas.
    • Maintains quality of food provided.
    • Participates on/in designated committees and meetings.
    • Participates in menu planning.
    • Disciplines employees. Controls food and labor costs.
    • Schedules employees.
    • Manages dining room activities.
    • Oversees food production and purchasing.
    • Work positions as needed in any position in the department.




    Preferably 2-3 years of experience in food service management or cooking in a long term care setting.
