    The primary purpose of this position as a Nurse Aide Trainee is to acquire the knowledge, skills, and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant by participating in the facility’s planned educational program consisting of classroom instructions, clinical practice, and on the job, supervised training, and to perform certain services for which you have been trained and found to be competent during the training period. Trainees may only be employed as a nurse aide trainee for 120 days from the date of hire or the date of completion of the nurse aide training program, whichever occurs first; and that, while engaged in clinical training, the trainee can only provide care under the supervision of the clinical supervisor. Will ensure trainees must take the state nurse aide competency examination within 15 days of successful program completion.




    • Perform only those nursing care procedures that you have been trained to do.
    • Provide assistance with activities of daily living (bed mobility, transfer, walking, locomotion, dressing, eating, toilet use, personal hygiene, bathing) in accordance with the plan of care.
    • Report all accidents and incidents you observe to the Clinical Supervisor.
    • Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the Clinical Supervisor as soon a practical.
    • Transport residents as needed.
    • Participate in and receive the nursing report as instructed.
    • Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
    • Make beds as instructed.
    • Weigh residents as instructed.
    • Record temperatures, pulses, and respirations of residents as instructed.
    • Answer resident call bells promptly.
    • Ensure that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
    • Check residents routinely to ensure that their personal care needs are being met.
    • Watch for and report any changes in room temperature, lighting, etc.
    • Assist residents during meals as necessary.
    • Record the resident’s food/fluid intake. Report changes in the resident’s eating habits to the Clinical Supervisor.
    • Keep residents’ water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water, and within easy reach of the resident.
    • Serve between meal snacks as instructed.
    • Perform after meal care. (Clean resident’s hands, face, clothing, etc.)


    • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Adequate problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
    • Awareness of environmental safety
    • Able to work as part of a team
